Eric Woodward Foundation New Scholarship Program

Ewf circle

The Eric Woodward Foundation (the “EWF”) Board of Directors is delighted to announce that the Fort Langley Project has started a new scholarship program for Langley teens to pursue post-secondary education. The Foundation has committed a minimum of $500,000 dollars over the next five years, starting with at least 5 to 8 scholarships to be awarded in 2022, starting for this September.

It's great to be able to give talented young people with so much potential some support. They will not have to worry about tuition, and can just focus on their studies.

I didn't have anyone helping me get through university, and it's hard, especially when you don't have perfect grades. Where we can, we want to help with that. — Eric Woodward, Chair

Within a qualifying program, each awarded scholarship will cover the full cost of tuition for up to four consecutive years, or until a first bachelor’s degree or diploma is achieved.

The Eric Woodward Foundation is committed to helping students that need a little extra help succeed in a rapidly changing world. These full-tuition scholarships are available to students based in Langley who want to help support change, nurture progress, and are preparing to ontribute to making the world a better place.

The scholarship program is administered by Universities Canada and is available to students who meet the following criteria:

  • A Canadian citizen or a permanent resident;

  • A full-time resident of the Township of Langley;

  • Be entering or already enrolled in full-time studies in a first bachelor degree or first diploma program in the upcoming academic year; and

  • Have a minimum cumulative average of 70%, or equivalent, over the last three terms of available marks. Non-academic courses such as career or personal development related courses will not be considered.

Helping educate the next generation is one of the most important things we can do to better society as a whole. — Barry Dashner, Vice-Chair

The scholarship application page for the EWF scholarship program can be found at Universties Canada. Applications close on March 23rd, 2022. A minimum of five scholarships will be awarded in early May 2022.
